This is a showroom and a factory producing “Arita-yaki”. They always sell regular products and new arrivals. You can always have a look around the showroom and buy products during business hours. If you make a reservation, you can also have a look around a factory for a fee of 800 yen. Moreover, if you make a reservation you can try painting, shaping ceramics on ‘rokuro’, a pottery wheel and transferring graphics. You can contact them and make a reservation by either phone or email. Their specialty is “Treasure Hunting”, which is a purchase of all-you-can-pack potteries in a basket. You can try two different courses for either 5000 yen or 10000 yen with a 90-minute time limit. You do not need a reservation.

Products of LEGNATEC have been growing popular overseas in recent years. They have a large and open showroom and sell their traditionaland new products. You might well spend half a day walking around and enjoying the large selection of items. You can have a look around the showroom and shop whenever it’s open. This is the showroom and factory of Tohma Corporation established about 90 years ago, producing “Morodomi furniture”, one of the traditional local products of Saga prefecture. They sell about 400 items such as cabinets, tables, couches and so on. If you make a reservation you can have a look around the factory and showroom. Since items at the showroom are for wholesale only, retail customers cannot shop there.

Nabeshima style carpet/Nabeshima dantsu yoshijima family

This is the showroom and factory of Nabeshima Dantsu Yoshijima Family, producing cotton carpets “Nabeshima Dantsu”. Nabeshima Dantsu is specified as one of Saga’s traditional local products by the Saga prefectural government. There is an exhibition explaining the history of Nabashima Dantsu on the 1st floor, and a showroom on the 2nd floor. You can have a look around the showroom and buy products whenever it’s open. Since they produce a product on demand, you can receive your product only after a few months.

This is the factory of Kuriyama shop producing “Nishikawanobori bamboo crafts”, one of the traditional local products of Saga. Craft men work on the full hand process of making bamboo called “Hachiku” into thin sticks with a sickle and a small knife and weaving them into a product. If you make a reservation, you can take a factory tour. At the factory you can purchase from a selection of bamboo baskets, lunch boxes and so on.

Nogomi doll/Nogomi doll factory

This is the factory producing zodiac clay bells known as “Nogomi doll”, which are popular as a gift of Yutoku Inari shrine in Kashima city. If you make a reservation you can have a look around the factory. There is an exhibition in the factory and they display their zodiac clay dolls, Hina dolls (girl’s day dolls) and Seven Fortune Gods, and you can buy their products. This is a factory of ISSHINDO, a package maker established in 1956. They produce boxes for international and domestic luxury brand products such as “Arita porcelain”, a national traditional craft. This is a factory run by Mr. Masahiro Takayanagi producing “Osaki dolls”, the traditional clay doll of Saga. He has the factory in his house, so you need to make a reservation in advance if you would like to see the factory. There is no showroom but a selection of his traditional products and new designs are displayed in the factory so that you can buy them.
